Return, Be Healed, and Let Faith Arise

A Word from Chuck and Pam Pierce: Return, Be Healed, and Let Faith Arise

July 1, 2004

Dear Faithful Intercessors:

Thank you for participating in the 50-Day Prayer Focus.  Lots of warfare has been going on during this time, but I believe that because of your faithful standing we are moving through warfare into a “prosperous mindset.”  We are seeing governments shift.  Do not allow the enemy to wear down your mind!

A Time to Return: From Chuck Pierce

The Lord has been speaking the word “RETURN” to me. Return means to go or come back to a place or former condition from which you have departed or deviated. This can be in thought as well as in speech.
Return also means to revert to a previous owner. Return can be to take a different course.  A return can be a profit or revenue. A return can also be to report or announce a result to a judge. The Lord then quickened Hosea (Hoseah 6:1-3) which says:

“Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.  After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”

Israel had strayed from the destined purpose of God. However, it was time for a return! They began to exhort one another to return to God.  We should be doing the same.  He who "tore" has the power and the will to "heal" us.
Actually, our own straying many times causes us to be hurt in ways that are unnecessary.   In order for the Lord to bind up and heal the Israelites they had to return to a place from which they had departed.

I have sensed four things about the Body:

  1. Many have been in a place where they have strayed from the Lord’s perfect purpose.
  2. Many have gotten lost in their pursuit of God and are saying, “Lord, how did we get here and how do we get out of this mess?”
  3. Many have been wounded in the process of moving forward and now need healing.
  4. Many are so weary in running the race that they have decided to depart for a different path.

Whatever the case, the Lord is ready to heal again! He is ready to revive and He is ready to raise you up.  However, we must go through the three-day process to get there.

To be revived means to be restored to life or to live again.  To be raised up means to ascend from oppression and depression to a higher position of honor, favor, and glory. I believe this process leads us into the next phase:  "Then shall we know….if we follow on to know the Lord…"
This is a time of maturing. The hard processes of life are maturing us. If we make the choice NOW to “FOLLOW ON” we will know Him in a new way.  However, we are in a peculiar place of choice. The rain of refreshing and cleansing is there waiting for you. Keep going. Your latter house will be greater than your former.

We have experienced one dimension of healing, grace, and victory, but I hear Him saying: “Keep going, and you will see the greater.”  You are over halfway there! Keep pursuing His face.

Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

Embracing Faith in Times of Conflict: From Pam Pierce

I do not often have the opportunity to write you and thank you for all your prayers for Chuck and I.  Chuck asked me to write a perspective on faith.  I hope this helps many of you who might be going through circumstances where your faith is being tested.

One misconception among believers is that faith is like a power source that can be consumed like gasoline.  On the contrary, faith is a gift from God that is eternally present.  Our problem, as earthbound humans, is accessing that faith during times of stress, such as sickness, rebellious children, relationship problems, and warfare.
In my own experience, I have realized that when I am bombarded by stressors in the middle of the night and feel like my faith is weak, it's not really a faith-supply problem, it's a sin problem.  We are told over and over again to "fret not," to "be anxious for nothing," to "cast all our cares upon Him because he cares for you."

When I lay awake, staring at the ceiling, substituting worry for prayer, I can see Scarlett O'Hara saying that one line from Gone With the Wind:  "I won't worry about that now.  Tomorrow is another day."  For the believer, the truth in that statement is found in the promise that God's mercies are new every morning.  Whether I am fretting over the state of my laundry room or the state of the Union, God's mercies are new every morning.
As I cast my cares upon Him, submit to the Holy Spirit, and walk in obedience, faith is given new wings, unencumbered by the sins of doubt, unbelief, and worry.  Ultimately, I either believe that Jesus holds the keys to death, hell, and the grave, or I don't.  Personally, I choose to believe.

Sometimes choosing to believe is the first step in restoring faith to its rightful position in our lives.  There is no doubt that the "shield of faith" is meant to protect and preserve us in times of trouble, but if we are weakened by doubt and anxiety, that faith is ineffectual. That's when the enemy comes in like a flood and wreaks havoc in our lives, sowing even more seeds of doubt and unbelief and convincing us that God is not faithful.  For this reason, we must be diligent and alert.
      Ephesians 5:15-17
says it best: "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. . . .but understand what the will of the Lord is."  As we operate in this principle, God is faithful to perfect that which concerns us for our good and His glory.

Let Him perfect you in the midst of your circumstance.  Never lose sight of eternity.

50-State Tour Update

Travel is intensifying again. Pastor Dutch Sheets and I have just finished our 50-State Tour meetings in North and South Dakota.  These were states 43 and 44, respectively, and the last two states I had never visited.  Each meeting continues to be unique and powerful.  I would love to see some of you at the remaining meetings.
We lack Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, West Virginia, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.  The dates for these meetings can be found on my schedule at the end of this letter.

Eagles of God Trip to Uganda (July 5-10)

I am preparing to leave for my next Eagles of God trip on Monday, July 5.  Dr. Peter Wagner is assembling a meeting of apostles from across the nations of Eastern Africa.  This will be held in Kampala, Uganda and will be similar to the gathering of apostles I attended in May, in Kiev, Ukraine
I will be taking a team of five with me: Marty Cassady, John and Sheryl Price, Ginny Marks and Joe Askins. This is an expensive but necessary trip, costing each of us $5,000.  Dr. Peter Wagner will be convening several dozen key leaders from that region to begin to share and partner in a new way so that a great Harvest can be reaped from this region.

Our host is Jackson Senyonga.  This two-day meeting will be on July 7-8.  Our schedule is:

July 5 (PM) Depart Dallas/Ft. Worth
July 6 (AM) Arrive in London
July 6 (PM) Depart London
July 7 (early AM) Arrive in Uganda
July 7–8 Apostolic Summit in Kampala, Uganda
July 9 (AM) Depart Uganda for London/New York
July 9 (PM) Arrive in New York
July 10 (AM) Depart New York
July 10 (late AM) Arrive in Dallas/Ft. Worth

Please pray for our safety, health, stamina and return for the long, intense trip.  There is a move of restoration and transformation that is going on in Uganda that we all need to get in on.  I will send it back to you.

7 Days of Intense Praying in Your Captivity

Recently in a prayer meeting the following scripture came forth from Ezekiel 3:10-17:

Moreover He said to me: ‘Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears.  And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' whether they hear, or whether they refuse.’
Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: ‘Blessed is the glory of the LORD from His place!’  I also heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, and a great thunderous noise.
So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.  Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me…’”

The next seven days of the 50-Day Prayer Focus are very critical.  If you are at some other place in this Prayer Focus, just continue where you are.  But know that the next seven days we must set up a shield of protection over the future Harvest.  Day 30 was for us to read Amos 9 about the Tabernacle of David.  Days 31-38 appear below:

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Day 31: Read  II Sam. 5. Ask the Lord for the Breaker Anointing and strategies for breakthrough.

Day 32: Read Acts 15. Ask the Lord to settle any disputes that are keeping you from moving into full restoration.

Day 33: Read Joshua 3, especially v. 15.  “And as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest)…”  Do not be afraid to take that step of faith from wilderness to harvest.

Day 34: Read 1 Sam. 8, especially v. 12. “He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.” Ask the Lord to show you your assignment and role in Harvest.

Day 35: Read Lev. 23 especially v. 22.  “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the LORD your God.” Prepare a gift for someone less fortunate than you.

Day 36: Read Judges 14.  Study the life of Samson.  Note verse 14. Ask the Lord to reveal any root of bitterness that needs to turn sweet.

Day 37: Read Judges 15.  “After a while, in the time of wheat harvest, it happened that Samson visited his wife with a young goat. And he said, ‘Let me go in to my wife, into her room.’ But her father would not permit him to go in.” See the patterns that prevented victory in Samson’s life.  Ask the Lord to break any similar patterns in your life.

Day 38: Read Judges 16. Ask the Lord for strength to break through. Ask Him to recoup your losses.

Special Resources for this Time

Restoring Your Shield of Faith by Chuck D. Pierce and Robert Heidler

This is a must book for this hour.  Satan’s repeated attacks using our own feelings of fear and doubt can wear down our belief in the Lord’s power and goodness. False visions of God’s failure to keep His promises, news reports and feelings of self-pity are all venues Satan uses to undermine the most important part of our lives here on earth: Faith.
In Restoring Your Shield of Faith, you will learn to be an overcomer, fighting and winning the daily battles against Satan’s insidious objective. As your faith grows, doors of opportunity will swing open, asserting Christ’s promise to His followers that through faith, nothing is impossible!
If the fiery darts of the enemy are quenched by the shield of faith, we must understand this armor.  The shield of faith is like a door!  This is an important book for this year.  You can order your copy for $12.00 and we will cover the cost of shipping (US orders only).

Prosperity with a Purpose by Brian Sauder

God wants to supply “more than enough” so our abundance can meet the needs of others.  This unique book will help you understand God’s nature of seedtime and harvest, how money is a tool, how to break a spirit of poverty and how the Holy Spirit can teach you to prosper.  You can purchase this book for $7.00 and we will cover the cost of shipping (US orders only).
