Feb 01, 2018 - 21 Day Prayer Focus

5778/2018: A Year to Break Captivity and Come into a New Identity!  A 21-Day Prayer Focus Begins (Day 1-8)

Dear Focused Ones:

We are living in one of the most incredible and historic junctures in the history of mankind.  I say that with complete confidence and, I believe, accuracy.  The Lord has determined the place and the time that we live (Acts 17: 24-28). In Him, we live and move and have our being.  Faith works in time and place.  You are in a certain time and a certain place so you can grope, grab hold of Him, and gain purpose in your life.  He knew you before the foundation of the earth.  He sees your destiny through the Blood of His Son.  He doesn’t see you through your faults, shortcomings or mistakes.  He sees you as you were meant to be.  How you respond to Him, by faith, is how you become, and then overcome in a changing world.

We are living in the Hebraic year 5778 (5000 + 700 + 70 + 8). You can find a better understanding of the season we are living in by looking at the Hebraic understanding of the number 70.  Seventy means that your bloodline has completed a generational life cycle.  This number is also linked with breaking out of captivity.  This means you have endured being who you are, but now you will finish that season strong and enter into how you will represent Him and who you will become.  The captivity in your bloodline that has held you from expressing the fullness of who He made you to be, is broken.

In this year of eight (8), 5778 or 2018, we must remember and contextualize everything within the understanding that we are entering a “New Beginning”.  All eights (8’s) are linked with some “new” beginning.   I love Isaiah 43:18-19 which says: “Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by!  I am doing something NEW!  It’s springing up — can’t you see it? I am making a road in the desert, rivers in the wasteland.” (CJB)

This is the year of the GATE.  In this season we are in, angels are very active to make sure we go through the gate.  A gate is a place of authority and identity.  A gate is a place of business transaction and wealth transference.  A gate is a place of divine counsel.  This is also the year of the DOOR! He came to us to become THE DOOR for us! At this time of year, I look at all the doors we (and I say we) went through.  The year 2018 (5778) is summarized by five words: DOORS, GATES, ANGELS, WEALTH and WAR! This will be a year of Firsts, New Beginnings, and Kingdom Demonstration.  No matter how established you are, there will be new beginnings in your life, ministry, and spheres of authority. We, the Body of Christ, must manifest who we are and Who we represent!  God has a “First Order” that will be required of His people this year.  The Spirit of God is drawing out a first order that you have never seen for yourself or the mission that you are called to complete.

A new thing can be happening, but in the midst of a beginning we can fail to perceive the change. Eights (8’s) are linked with the power of the first. FIRST is linked with prototype, something that has not been before, or something that has never emerged into the BEST quality of presentation. The real war ahead is over your new identity. The word NEW is an interesting word.  There is a MOMENT of ENDING preceding a New Beginning.  Therefore, several questions arise:
  • What do we mean by IDENTITY and WHO WILL YOU BE IN THE DAYS AHEAD?
  • Will you recognize the moment of change that begins your new season?
  • How are you reacting when an END comes and a NEW BEGINNING starts?
  • Are you willing to go beyond and into a new dimension called FUTURE?

Your true identity begins when your spirit man comes alive and you are adopted into God’s family.  At that point, you receive the very life and nature of God Himself.  His DNA by His Spirit invades your core being.  You now are what He predetermined you to be.  However, your spirit must invade your soul so you are transformed to reflect what you were meant to be.  I am praying for an unlocking of the full destiny of who you are.  I am praying that you reflect the best God intended you to be this year.  This 21-Day Prayer Focus (with the first eight days below) will help you develop the fullness of your identity.
Day 1Read Psalm 139. Mediate on verses 3-6. In The Passion, theses verses are translated as: “You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me. This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible!  Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength.”You were knit together by Him. Lay your hands on yourself and thank God for how He knit you together.

Day 2Read John 1:9-12. Memorize and meditate on verse 12. In The Mirror Bible, verse 12, is translated as, “Everyone who realizes their association in him, convinced that he is their original life and that his name defines them, God gives the assurance that they are indeed his offspring, begotten of him; he sanctions the legitimacy of their sonship.”

Day 3:  Read Ephesian 3:16-21.  Memorize and meditate on verses 19-20.  In The Mirror Bible, these verses are translated as: “I desire for you to become intimately acquainted with the love of Christ on the deepest possible level; far beyond the reach of a mere academic, intellectual grasp.  Within the scope of this equation God finds the ultimate expression of himself in you.  We celebrate him who supercharges us powerfully from within.  Our biggest request or most amazing dream cannot match the extravagant proportion of his thoughts towards us.”

Day 4:  Read Proverbs 3.  Meditate on verses 5-10.  Ask the Lord this year to bring forth the “first order” of why He created you.

Day 5:  Read 1 Corinthians 2.  Meditate on verses 6-10.  God has provided us with a revelation through the Spirit.  Ask the Lord to uncovered the things that need to be uncovered. Decree that the mysteries you have missed in other seasons will start being unlocked in this season.

Day 6:  Read Isaiah 41.  Meditate on verses 14-16.  This is the chapter in which Isaiah prophesied how Cyrus would be used to change the identity of Jacob to Israel.  In this chapter, the Lord keeps reminding us to “fear not” the change ahead.  He then tells Jacob to move from being a worm to a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth.  He then instructs him to tear down the mountains that have prevented him from advancing in the past.  Now you do the same!

Day 7:  Read Zechariah 3 – 4.  Meditate on Zech. 3:3-4, and Zech. 4:6-7.  Remove any old garment that you are wearing.  A garment is linked with your past identity.  Declare that the Lord is breaking the power of any iniquity tied to your past.  Satan accuses us on the iniquity we wear.  Put on your new garment, and shout GRACE to the mountain from your past that stopped you from advancing.

Day 8:  Read Romans 12. Mediate on verses 1-3.  This is a season for you to break every schematic that Satan has used to conform you to an image other than what God has created you to be transformed into.  To do this, your mind must be renewed. That means a restoration of freshness must penetrate your thought processes.  This will formulate and help dictate your future.  Ask the Lord to break all restraints that hold your gift captive, and to unlock the fullness of who you should be.

Day 9:  Read Genesis 45 and Romans 8.  Decree that no matter what you have gone through, God is working it to good.  Especially concentrate on Gen. 45:26-28.  Ask the Lord to reconcile any relationships with those who are part of your covenant heritage.  Jacob’s spirit was revived when he realized his future (Joseph) was still alive. He then saw the provision that Joseph had sent him.  Ask the Lord to reveal to you the provision that He has for you in days ahead.

Day 10:  Read Exodus 12.  Meditate on verses 33-36.  Ask the Lord to show you the way into your future.  Don’t be afraid to declare that you will plunder your oppressors from the past and gain the supply that will propel you on your journey ahead.  Read Deuteronomy 8.  Remember the Lord your God.  Ask Him to give you a strategy to possess your land.  Meditate on verse 18.  He will give you the power to get wealth so that He may establish His covenant with you.  Power is vigor, strength, force and capacity.  He can unlock innate abilities within you to gain wealth.  Remember that you are part of a corporate movement.  As you pray for wealth, pray for those with whom you are aligned.  He will cause you to make certain adjustments, so that you can adapt to certain situations in days ahead.

Day 11:  Read Joshua 1.  The whole book of Joshua is about the transference of wealth.  Inside of your promise is provision.  Your provision is also linked with your vision. Meditate on verses 8-9.  The power of meditating on His covenant relations to you will activate your success.  Success actually means that what you need is already on the path ahead.  Ask the Lord to open your eyes to it.  Read Joshua 5:12- 6:27.  There comes a time when your manna will cease and the war for your future begins.  Don’t fear your Jericho.  Just dedicate it fully to the Lord and He will see that what is invincible in your life will be brought down.

Day 12:  Read the book of Ruth, concentrating on chapter 3.  Even though Naomi was in Moab, she remembered that she had an inheritance in Bethlehem.  Once she got back to the right place, the Law of Redemption began to go into operation.  Ask the Lord to activate the Law of Redemption and Restoration in your life.  In Ruth 3, there comes a moment when Ruth must shift for both her and Naomi to receive their future.  Ask the Lord to reveal your “moment” in days ahead.

Day 13:  Read 1 Samuel 30.  This is when the major transition in David’s life occurs.  Meditate on verses 8 and 19.  At the point of losing everything, he inquires of the Lord and the Lord directs him to pursue and recover all.  Along his path, the Lord placed David’s necessary help and he recovered everything and everyone that had been taken.  Be willing to give a special blessing to those who have helped you along your journey.  This action unlocked the next portion for David.

Day 14:  Read 1 Kings 17-18.  Remember your decrees in the heavenlies.  While God is working on the process you are in, know that provision is there.  Ravens, widows and other sources may bring what you need to help you endure, until your breakthrough occurs.

Day 15:   Read Luke 5.  Ask the Lord to get into your boat.  Mediate on verses 4, 10.  Know that the Lord has a way to pour out His goodness upon you.  Watch as He renews your call.

Day 16:  Read Acts 2.  Meditate on verses 40-47.  God is doing a new thing in the Church with His people.  This new thing encompasses fellowship , breaking of bread, prayers, and provision.  Ask the Lord to show you how to advance to your GATE ahead that will lead you into the next phase of the movement that He has for you. Ask Him to reveal your place in the Body of Christ, and in His kingdom plan, as we advance in days ahead.

Day 17:  Read Matthew 16, concentrating on verses 13-20.  Go beyond your last revelation!  Nobody could get more revelation than Peter.  He went beyond what he knew and Father connected with him.   Press in!  Let Father reveal beyond what you presently know.

Day 18:  Read Luke 22; meditate on verse 31.  Go beyond your last sifting!  Peter could not get the revelation deep enough in him to hang on to what he was seeing.  He had received the prophecy for the generations ahead but was then called Satan within fifteen minutes. His mind and emotions overtook him.  When you can’t keep your new identity, you go back to looking like who you were.  If you can’t keep and secure the revelation God’s bringing to you, there is a place called sifting on your road. Basically, Jesus said, “Peter, when you get past this place called sifting, all you can do then is to strengthen your brethren. If you try to go another route, Satan’s going to have you.”  It’s time to be on the road to beyond!

Day 19:  Read Luke 24.  Go beyond your last trauma and death experience. We have to see how Jesus took a group beyond the prophecy of a previous season. When Jesus died, it threw them all off, because they couldn’t “get” the prophecies. This is a synopsis of what Jesus told some of them on the road to Emmaus: “If you could have just known the Scriptures, you could have gotten this, but you couldn’t see beyond the trauma and what you expected to happen.”  He’ll take you beyond your last trauma and death experience and open your eyes into a realm that you couldn’t see or understand from the old place you were in.

Day 20:  Read John 20.  Go beyond your last ability to fear and forgive.  On the first day of the week, the disciples were all together, because they thought all they had left was each other. They locked the door because they believed that the same ones who killed Jesus would come and kill them (v. 19).  Jesus then showed up in the room the disciples were hiding in and said, “I’m taking you beyond your last ability and where fear is gripping you.”  Are you aware that the fear you’re engulfed in is related to what you’re capable of doing? Some of your fear is because you’re relying upon yourself to pull things off, and you can’t do it. He said to them, “Let Me bring you past that fear, and let Me commission you to go and forgive.” That was the only way they could move forward, and the same holds true for us. You won’t get to your beyond unless you can get past the signpost called forgiveness. You have to get past sifting, fear, and forgiveness, and then you can go beyond.

Day 21:  Read John 21.  Go beyond the last understanding of your call.  The Lord is extending new calls to His people. The disciples went beyond, but then they went right back to what they used to do. Are you aware that’s a very dangerous place for all of us right now? We’re faced with the choice of going beyond where we’ve been or going back to the season from three and a half years ago. The disciples went back to fishing. They took up their business again. But Jesus met them in the business! Don’t be deceived or get into the religious lie that you can’t prosper if you are not doing what you’re supposed to be doing. He can prosper you even when you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing. He can allow you to prosper. He helped His disciples prosper in their business.

After they recognized Him and had eaten breakfast, Jesus talked with Peter.  Jesus could have said to Peter, “If you do love Me, do you remember that prophecy I gave saying that you would be sifted like wheat and then you’d have to strengthen your brothers? You’re going to have to go back into your call. You’ll have to go beyond your last three and a half years and into a new type of call.”  You would think Peter would have fallen on his face and said, “Here I am, Lord!” But what he actually said was, “What’s going to happen with John?” Jesus answered him and basically said, “What is that to you? I’m asking you if you will go beyond.” Jesus was not talking about shirking responsibility but was asking this: “Will you keep following Me, even if they decide not to?”

The gate called beyond is open to you. Go through! Go through the gate!
